A: Many people say “Framer is a scam?” What does that even mean? Framer is a design tool used by many thousands of people every day – largely for free – unless your definition of scam deviates from how the rest of us use it – It doesn’t feel like you understand what Framer is – nor what it does – as the idea that it’s a “scam” for taking payments (which, if you watched the video above – it’s a design tool – not a payment processor – Framer has no current mechanism for taking PAYMENTS – hence, the only people on TrustPilot who would be saying “Framer doesn’t handle payments, therefore it’s a scam” are people that aren’t very bright – or are completely confused – and you don’t want to count yourself, amongst those people – if you’re building a business 🙂 Framer builds the STORE – the external payment processor – be it Gumroad – Stripe – Shopfiy – Paypal – etc – processes the payment – NOT Framer. You use your STORE to display products – that are fufilled through ANY external payment platform – some of which (like Gumroad and Stripe via Lemonsqeeuzy and others – are natively supported – others like “copecard” which I’ve never heard of – nor digistore24 – which I’ve never actually seen someone use – should be fine – as long as they give you a product url that you can embed or link to for folks to buy from your store. Framer is FREE to try – so try it for your use case – and have your answer in 10 minutes – rather than using “Trustpilot” to get more confused than one ought to be – when building something new.
